Yes, it’s officially time to start holiday shopping (for those who didn’t start in August), which means it’s also a good time to support local community organizations and their holiday wish lists. Luckily for us, they have made it very fun to do so!

Run4Recovery is a fundraiser for the nonprofit Puente House Foundation. The foundation offers scholarships to assist those in recovery to pay for sober living housing in their community. All funds raised in Reno will stay in Reno.

Robin McGeough is an endurance athlete who recently biked through Reno on a thousand-plus mile ride to raise awareness and funds for those in addiction recovery. Run4Recovery is a cycling trek over 18 days, crossing three states and 1,124 miles. McGeough started his journey Oct. 7 in Portland, OR, and will arrive in Covina, CA, on Oct. 24. He recently rode through Reno, making a stop at Reno Behavioral Healthcare Hospital.
